A complete Uttarakhand pilgrimage covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath with realistic travel days and mountain pacing.
About Char Dham
The Char Dham journey requires more than simply connecting four temples. This starter 10-night itinerary builds in practical overnight stops and can be adjusted for senior travellers, helicopter preferences and seasonal road conditions.
Day-wise Itinerary
Day 1 — Haridwar / Dehradun – Barkot
Begin the Char Dham journey and drive to Barkot / nearby area. Check in and rest.
Day 2 — Yamunotri Excursion
Proceed to Janki Chatti and continue towards Yamunotri by trek, pony or palki. Darshan and return to Barkot.
Day 3 — Barkot – Uttarkashi
Drive to Uttarkashi. Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple if time permits. Overnight in Uttarkashi.
Day 4 — Gangotri Excursion
Drive to Gangotri for darshan and return to Uttarkashi for overnight stay.
Day 5 — Uttarkashi – Guptkashi
Long scenic drive towards Guptkashi / nearby area. Check in and rest.
Day 6 — Guptkashi – Kedarnath
Proceed towards Kedarnath using the confirmed trek / pony / palki / helicopter plan. Overnight as per confirmed arrangement.
Day 7 — Kedarnath – Guptkashi
Morning darshan and return to Guptkashi / nearby area.
Day 8 — Guptkashi – Badrinath
Drive towards Badrinath. Evening darshan if timing permits. Overnight in Badrinath.
Day 9 — Badrinath – Rudraprayag
Morning darshan, local sacred sites as feasible, then continue towards Rudraprayag / Srinagar Garhwal.
Day 10 — Rudraprayag – Haridwar / Rishikesh
Return towards Haridwar / Rishikesh with suitable breaks. Overnight.
Day 11 — Departure
Transfer to the selected airport / railway station for onward travel.
Hotel Category
Accommodation varies significantly across the Char Dham route and should be chosen for location and comfort appropriate to mountain conditions. Private vehicle routing is recommended, while helicopter segments can be discussed separately.
